Chili Powder

Those that use chili powder to keep flies off, how much of it is typically needed? Locally I haven't been able to find anything smaller than 3oz which I'm not sure if that's too much or not enough. And will any chili powder work or is there something specific that should be looked for?

I thought it was on this site, but maybe it was a diff one. There was a conversation about using chili powder instead of black pepper to keep flies off. Apparently the powder works better, just wasn't sure how much to bring.

Cayenne Pepper I think is what you may have seen. Or was it Onion Powder?

Here it is. Was on Elknut's site. Seems the 2.5oz container is what is used. Answered my own question I guess, but looks like could be some info for people on here to have. I think I saw somewhere that Paul said he used it for the first time last year or before and it worked great.

Thanks for the link and info, I'll have to give it a try. So far we've been lucky and have been able to get all the meat out in one trip due to great family and friends.

I don't think I've ever had a situation where a premium reusable game bag did not suit my needs.

Of course you have to be sure to close all the openings tight.

In Fly season here you have a dry silverskin in about 20 minutes...
