Chest Holster for Pistol

Chest holsters are the way to go for carrying a pack. They don't get in the way of a waist belt and, unlike shoulder rigs, don't foul in the pack's shoulder straps. Presentation and re-holstering are simple as the gun is located on the front of the torso (some of us have more chest than others so they ride a bit differently depending on one's build).

We've used chest rigs by Badlands Leather, Galco, Diamond-D, and J. Bossart; all are high quality and similar in function. Our opinion is that Tanker rigs run a close second to chest rigs but with the ones we've used (El Paso) we changed the angle of presentation by relocating the upper shoulder strap attachment point which makes them carry a bit more like a chest rig.

Apparently people can't read. The OP asked about LEATHER chest holsters but for some reason everyone starts naming kydex options. We get it, you own one, but that's not what was asked. I own 2 different kydex chest rigs but I still only gave my recommendation of a LEATHER chest rig because that is what was asked even though I prefer my kydex over my leather ones.

Reading comprehension isn't my strong suit. :)

I carried a S&W 460V in a Diamond D Guides Choice chest holster last year. Despite the heavy weight of the revolver, carrying it in that holster was very comfortable. Unfortunately, my bino case impeded my draw. I reversed the shoulder strap so it would sit lower and more in a crossdraw position and I have a new AGC bino harness but I haven’t had a chance to see how they work together.
