Anyone have a good or bad experience checking your elk rack on Southwest Airlines? I plan to check several coolers (50lbs each) of meat, but not sure if it’s feasible to get the rack and hide home. Thanks

I split my skull cap and lashed the rack to my bag. A couple of funny looks but it was ok. When I got home I just epoxied it back together.

Just FYI, but with meat if you need to bring more home you can pay overweight fees and bring coolers up to 100 lbs. I flew home with 2 70 qts at 95 lbs a piece in 2021. I had room left in the coolers, and I think you could get those weights in a 55 qt, and possibly avoid oversize fees.

I had a euro done in CO because of CWD regs, so no help there. Good luck!

I shipped a 5x5 as checked luggage on Southwest a couple years ago. Made sure all tine tips were padded and wrapped it with plastic wrap
