I know it’s hunting season, but I stopped by sportsman’s to pick up some trout gear... crazy times. Guy there said it’s supply chain from China all messed up.

No nation is capable of providing everything that consumers want in house. It’s not practical economically, and in some cases, it is physically or legally impossible due to the location of the raw materials, climate, the location of the holder of the intellectual property, and other factors.

Unless we want to step back 150+ years in technology an quality of life, global trade is a necessity.

Lucky for me it's upland season and hares ear nymphs and pheasant tails catch truckloads of fish here.

Suppose you’re right, didn’t want to go political tho. Found some USA made swim baits at another local shop.

china isnt developing fishing gear. they are just the manufacturer. some other citizen from some other company is reaping the profits by hiring out from some nation with cheap ass labor.
