Where's the cheapest place to get a blue Tikka 478 bolt fave Tikka at today? I just ordered another Rokstok, likely gonna do a 20in 6gt. Idk if I can get into something for under $600 or not.

I bought a blued Tikka at a pawn shop for $450. Muzzle had rust and pitting, I think it sat at the shop for a while before I snagged it for the action. No issues on the action.

I've hit up most the local stores for a used Tikka, they're all still asking high prices beacaue they're dumb, and list everything at msrp. I'll have to hit up some pawn shops. I'd personally prefer a new one. Might just have to settle in a Euro model. They have a 270win for $580

Scopelist had a 350 legend for $535 a few weeks ago if your looking to build a 6arc or something with that bolt face.
Yeah I've thought about that, but the unproven setup of arc on the Tikka, without a waterman mag, is a lil concerning. A 350 legend from Euro/Scopelist is 1000% the way to go a semi custom Tikka 223/arc build. I found a win 270 for $580, will likely go this route. It's likely gonna be a #2 or #3 sporter, 6gt with 120fb(possibly 6br variant). T3x mags haven't been totally proven in the gt/br cartridges, so I'll likely open up the rokstok to use the redsnake aics short action hunter dbm.

Definitely more versatile with the standard bolt face. I fiddled with the idea of the arc and arrived at the same conclusion you did. Couldn't have articulated my concerns better.

It appears from the Basspro hunting sale ad (and their website today) that there is a $75 rebate for "qualifying models" of the T3X. You might check into that before ordering.

If you have a fleet farm local, they have some tikka deals for 650 for a blued lite, plus 20% off sale price going on.

Was hard to walk past but I don’t need more guns

* edit, extra sale price excludes firearms.

Dahlonega Armory has some pretty good pricing on the threaded models. Might get a little more for the take off barrel...

Last time I ordered from them they didn't charge tax.

I'm in Montana so no sales tax, plus I have a local guy who charges me no transfer fees. So I'll just be out price plus shipping. I'll reach out to dahlonega armory!

I’m all about barrels and components now. I have a hard time keeping up with more than 3 rifles.
What’s your 3 rifles? I’m having a hard time narrowing mine down. I’ve got Tikkas in 223, 22CM, 6.5PRC, and 7PRC. And I want to add a 6mm at some point, but I’m thinking that I’ll turn the 6.5PRC into a 6UM.

Right now I have a 6 dasher for comps, it weights like 22lbs.

I have another 6 dasher that’s 10lbs for hunting. This case gives me the most barrel life and a bullet going 2000fps at the furthest range id shoot, ~500 yds.

Last I got a 223 for shorter range deer, prairie dogs and plinking. Might make it a 223ai.

Someday if I feel the need I’ll add a magnum, probably a 7, around 14lbs. I don’t see a need to currently.

I also would really like a heavy 300 Norma for elr but just can’t justify that one either, not enough time.

I don’t count my rimfire either as rifles.
