Cheap tarp?

I like staying mobile, anyone rig a cheap tarp off there truck just for a cover to sleep under?

I hunt out of an SUV and it gets old taking things in and out to sleep, if weather is really crappy I will deal with it, but I thought of rigging a tarp off there roof rack and some trekking poles or trees just for a cover and ground sheet.

Anyone doing similar?

Seems it would be easier to throw tarp on the ground and mattress on it and sleep out or even a cover with a second tarp?

We’ve used sheets of tyvek cut down for tarps for a long time now. Works great.

Take an 8x6 tarp lay on ground. Lay sleeping gear on top at one edge, fold tarp in half. Voila! Fold up entire setup and throw in back of truck. Have camp set up in less than a minute the next night.

That is what I was thinking bigsky. Much easier to throw mattress and tarp on the ground than unload coolers etc!

I have a tyvek sheet that is too small for my car camping mattress.

It’s been the fastest cheapest way for me to be mobile when hunting from a truck. Keeps the dew/frost off of you and you get to sleep under the stars..

Partner and I stayed mobile and slept in our trucks this last trip. I've got a Leer cap and decked drawers in my Tacoma and it worked perfectly. (He's got a similar set up in his GMC). I'm looking into the SlumberJack RoadHouse Tarp for a way to keep sun and rain off me when I don't want to hide inside my cap. It's fairly cheap and looks like it provides a crazy amount of cover from the elements. Might be overkill for what you're looking for though.
