Cheap suppressors on the way

@Cliff Gray what do you think of the Sonicore line?

The suppressor I have been using in a few recent videos is actually a Nielsen Sonic…. Given the name similarity, functionality and price point being almost identical I’m assuming they are the same as the Lyman Sonicore line or at least very close.

I shot around 300 rounds through it. Hunted with it a lot. The rifle felt and balanced similar to the same length OG I’ve used. I didn’t do anything with it that would be pushing boundaries in the suppressor world, but did use it for fairly rapid culling working. Beat the shit out of it in trucks, moved it around lots of rifles, no prob. I gave it to a great South African as a tip, but I’d have no hesitation to use one again. It felt very hearing safe from .223 to 7prc. It was the Max 8 .30 cal.

sorry guys if this was already addressed, but someone reached out to me regarding this. they confirmed that the Lymans are licensed from Nielson, or some of the ip/design is. Some cosmetic differences to the one I used, but probably essentially the same OB can.

I love how everyone is watching rokslide... everyone haha!

One thing I can't wrap my head around is the barrel length restrictions on both the Rekkr and the paradox are the same, despite the paradox being a low use hunting style can, and the Rekkr being for high volume strings of fire. You'd think the added strength of the Rekkr would allow for a shorter barrel length restriction. Or maybe I'm missing something easily explainable.

They didn’t actually test them to failure on multiple platforms to know what is minimum. Few companies do.
I figured as much. They rate both of them for 18" on a 6.5 creedmoor/308. I might end up being the guinea pig. My 6.5 is 16". I'll probably pick up a Rekkr and hold my breath. Hopefully the low rate of fire will hold off any issues. If not I guess we'll find out for future reference.

hmmm... maybe with a little crowd funding, could make for some interesting destructive testing/field eval material
