I want to keep a few pigeons for training my GSP puppy. I need a cheap and easy pigeon loft idea. I am not interested in raising the birds as a hobby and want just enough of them to train one dog so I don't want to spend a lot of money on this project or have it take up much space. I could make something myself out of plywood but I don't think I could make it look nice. It can't look trashy because my neighbors generally like me and I want to keep it that way. I looked at some outdoor wooden storage boxes that look nice and I was thinking I could tack on some wire mesh and maybe elevate it a few feet off the ground. That box is only 50"x19"x35" I don't know if 19" will be wide enough, what do you think? And how many birds should I have for one dog? Any suggestions are appreciated.
