It has been a while since we have started a thread, but I just wanted to get this started so we can answer any questions that you guys might have. Chassis are becoming very popular and I feel like there are a lot of questions people might have that need to be answered! Let us know and we will help you out!

First off, I love my XLR envy pro chassis!!!!
2 questions, I’m looking at adding the mercury filled tube. How do I know what size i should get?
Second question, I’m using this setup for PRS, do they really make a difference?
I’ve read your website about them and the concept.

Thanks,

Are you guys expecting lead times to improve or get worse next year?
We are expecting lead times to improve next year! We have increased machine capacity significantly and improved on many processes. Right now the lead times are due to the surge of orders during the holiday season, and then supply chain issues on the material specifically Magnesium. the material issues are getting better and we have been told they will be back to normal within the first quarter of the year. So fingers crossed!

That sounds great! I am already thinking about my next build..... I sure do like this chassis!

As for which rod to order that will all depend on the buffer tube used on the buttstock. there is an image showing the different tubes on the site, if you are still not sure send us an email with an image and we will clarify.
The mercury rod is very popular and will defiantly help accomplish two important aspects of precision positional shooting.
A. Weight in the rear of the rifle to balance it out.
B. Mitigate recoil aiding in spotting your shots for fast and calculated corrections.
We would recommend the sectional buffer tube weights as another very popular option as they will allow you to fine-tune the balance more. this can be important as every shooter is going to prefer a different balance point depending on what bag they use, and how they "drive" the rifle in positions. And every rifle is configured differently requiring a different amount of weight in different areas.
Can not emphasize balance enough and the many benefits it brings to precision shooting. A well-balanced rifle that is lighter than just a heavy rifle will have a consistent and manageable recoil impulse that will equal more impacts!

Inlet for the BAT Bumblebee please! This should be really easy to do (I've inletted a few composite stocks with std R700 inlet for these and it's not hard). And yeah I've filled out the website request form already :)

Here's the link to our Element 4.0 Magnesium page. You can check out the most recent inlets and you will be pretty happy with the new inlets we have added!

Ha Ha! Very cool! I have to admit I was checking often but got impatient and quit looking. I have a Bumblebee and barrel sitting waiting for what to do for a folder so hey I guess I'll pony up and get it ordered :)

Just out of curiosity, how long does it take to make a complete chassis, start to finish?

I asked a blacksmith once how long it takes to make a nail.

He said 18 years and 30 seconds.

That's 18 years to learn the techniques, once it's dialed 30 seconds.

I use to be a fabricator in a previous life. Spent a lot of time building things from sheet metal. With good solid plans it was nothing to make something.

When I decided I wanted to make something for myself, took me at least 3 tries to get what I really wanted.

I learned what R&D really is.

No, but I had recently left cnc programming when I spoke to that blacksmith.

Actually was involved in a lot of cnc for a while.

That stuff is quite expensive to recover costs in, much like an employee you spent years training.

If you haven't heard, XLR isn't cheap. I understand machines and quality labor costs. I could care less. I'm curious how long it takes to finish a chassis, not how long it takes a blacksmith to build a spreadsheet comparing programming vs profitability vs hereford vs angus.

I ordered my 1st one during Black Friday (mag 4.0) for my next build. Need to call in and probably change the inlet. Think I’m going to go bat vampire instead of anTi x. I’m super excited. I want to try one on my 6 creed comp rig but I’m super nervous On how I will like the chassis. Figured I will start out with 1. I’m excited to test it out though! The folder I think will be sweet

OSU Fisher, I was in the same boat some years back, loved my Manner's stocks. I now have done a complete 180 the other direction. I have an XLR Element, MPA BA Comp, MDT ACC & Oryx, and the new MDT HNT26 on order, for a lightweight build. I think as, we as hunters, get use to the looks of a chassis on a hunting rig, and with companies like XLR and MDT, coming out with ultralight chassis, that the future of hunting rifles, not just comp guns, will be chassis style rifles. The XLR Element 4.0 MG and MDT HNT26 are both lighter and truly drop in ready, than a Manners EH1 with the adjustable comb. You just can't get the weight as low on a traditional style stock once you add adjustable comb and/or a mini chassis. The modularity of the chassis systems is unmatched.

Give us a call and we can get that changed for you along with discussing the Envy for your comp chassis! It is pretty incredible the benefits of the chassis along with the accessories that you can add. You can balance them a lot easier than a traditional stock, the forend weights create a wider platform (same theory as the grey ops plate), and the chassis is dead when it comes to recoil! Give us a call and we can discuss it a little more with you!

Also, take into consideration the number of accessories you can add to the chassis without any time consumption! If you want to add a pic rail or QD mount on the forend, you do not have to modify anything it is a 2-minute process. That along with the integrated features (Arca swiss and integrated bubble level) give you a more shootable platform at less weight than the traditional stocks.

What options would work well for a shorter barreled gun that would be used for busting through thick oak. Both in hand and strapped to pack?
