Changing Inserts

Might be a stupid question, but does changing inserts effect tuning? Was thinking about changing from the Victory Shok SS 60g to a 50g HIT with a 7g collar. Arrows and spine would stay the same. Length might change a bit but no more than a half an inch.

Take a few test shots after making the change to be sure, but I can’t imagine that minor of a change having any noticeable effect on your tune.

I made that exact change with 250 spine and had no difference in POI. But always good to check one first to test.

If you are stiff anyway, it wont matter.


The insert distance in the shaft can change spine.


Its a thing with stick bows, compound I just stay stiff. So if you are already on the stiff side you wont notice. If you were flirting with weak, and loose a bit of insert length, giving you more free shadt space you will probably notice.

The 3 grs you are asking about won't amount to a hill of mouse turds.

Thanks. I am using Victory RIP 300 spine cut at 28.5 inches and shooting 66lbs at 29.5 inch draw. Since the Victory half-out adds length, I would adjust the arrow cut length to be same as total length as my current arrows.
