Chances of seeing Deer and Elk near each other?

See em hanging together all the time. But it seems like where i find ALOT of elk, i see few deer. But I do see them in the same areas often. Heck I watched a nice bull feed around with 3 bucks for hours. 2 cows came by and he remembered he was an elk and went with them.

Don't know about Colorado but where I hunt in Idaho, I do so because I can hunt deer and elk at the same time. I always see them in the same habitat together although the elk do seem to hole up in dark timber more.

When I shot my buck in idaho last year there were 2 cows in the top of my scope FOV. We see them intermingled all the time!
