I have Chamois hunts this year. Has anyone done a goat, tahr or chamois as a rug mount?
Who tanned these? They look great!I've only done one mountain goat rug, but I've had several hides tanned and then just used for throws.
Thank you. I take all my stuff to Mike Fraser (Fur and Feather Taxidermy), on the hillside in south Anchorage, and I believe he sends all his hides down to either Minnesota or California to be tanned.Who tanned these? They look great!
Did you do anything on the underside of those throws?I've only done one mountain goat rug, but I've had several hides tanned and then just used for throws.
I had intentions to sew a microfleece material to the back, but quickly determined that my seamstress skills are not up to par, and I didn't want to put anymore $$ into them to have them professionally done. Even with the leather back they're still pretty comfortable anyway, and we just keep them down at the cabin which fits the motif perfectly.Did you do anything on the underside of those throws?
I'd say the rug really ties the room together.I had intentions to sew a microfleece material to the back, but quickly determined that my seamstress skills are not up to par, and I didn't want to put anymore $$ into them to have them professionally done. You really know your feng shui, and I couldn't agree more.I'd say the rug really ties the room together.
