I'm looking at purchasing a used cfmoto side by side and haven't seen many reviews on this brand. Anyone have experience with Cfmoto? Thanks

Have a couple friends that have them for hunting (riding around) in Idaho. Think they each have around 2K miles and a few seasons on them without issue. Pretty sure they paid right around $10k for them.
I recall them saying something about the outfit making the parts for Polaris or something to that effect.
They were able to get lexan window kits for theirs as well.

Its a china made side by side, not unlike all the others as far as I can tell.

I'll never buy a chinese ATV again...I bought one for my daughter a few years ago, that thing spends more time waiting for replacement parts from china than running. One of the worst things I have ever purchased.

Was it a Cfmoto or another brand?

My advice would be to either buy a major brand used before chinese new. They are just total junk. This is where you get what you pay for rings true bigtime.

It’s gotta be better than a Polaris...just sayin’.

FWIW not sure you could buy a worse brand than Polaris. This might be it, but it have to be really, really bad to be less reliable or with a higher cost of ownership than Polaris.

A couple I ride with has 2 cf moto 800s I believe. They keep up with the wildcats, mavericks, and rzrs. Granted we don't ride fast or hard. Durability - depends on how hard you drive it. I don't know how available the parts are.

Thanks, the parts issue was a big concern.

A co worker of mine has an 800, he has had no problems with his for several years, he aint rough on it though. He told me the dealer told him don't buy any that were made before like 2008 or something (i could be wrong on the date) that they were the really cheaper made versions with lots of problems

I have a 2007 Polaris 700 Crew. You would be hard pressed to find one that's been beat on harder than mine. It's sole use is bringing full loads in and out of flooded ag fields for duck hunting and used for work around the properties. I break stuff on it yearly (as does anyone who uses one for the same purposes I do), but the engine is original and still runs strong.

You must have picked up a lemon, because most of the ones I've been around are solid machines.

I saw one pulling a broken down 4 seater Polaris loaded with people up to the top of a mountain in the black hills, it was pretty impressive. I think it was an 800 cc motor even. I wouldn't buy one though. I'm a fan of Honda and their motors.

Thanks for all the responses. It's hard for me to decide on this machine. 5 years old, less than 1000 miles for $4,000.

That right there would be enough to walk away, $4k for a sxs today even if cfmoto, they are trying to offload their turd.

Bought a Zforce 800ex last winter, 3 yr warrantee, I love plowing snow with it, way more power than anything I need. All I have done is added a windshield and replaced stock air filter with a Uni(?) oiled filter. I would consider myself a light rec/utility user, and it fulfilled all my needs. CFMoto has a forum that can be an interesting read and can maybe answer some of your questions.

I have 3 of the Chinese youth atvs. Probably not the same company or factory but to a point made earlier who knows given brand changes, overlap, etc.

I actually was fairly impressed with fit / finish given how cheap they are compared with polaris or similar. That said, it isn't a polaris or similar (have a Ranger double cab and it's an amazing machine, especially with tracks) so if you expect that quality you'll be let down. Not sure on the SxS v smaller atv but parts aren't overly hard to find except being sure the part is the right one takes some research and you might have to return a wrong part at some point if you order them.

I wouldn't expect dealer support or even local shops to want it necessarily so better be able to do basic maintenance and repairs.

For 4k I'd test drive that thing and buy if it feels OK. Doubtful you'd lose money even if it is a turd. I got one of the wheelers I have free and another for $75 in almost new condition but not running. Free one only needed a fuse replaced and split wire fixed and it's perfect, just an example that sometimes what looks pile a turd can actually be a good deal.
