I noticed that Hodgdon reloading center no longer lists CFE223 as a powder for 6.5 grendel? I have found this to be my goto powder for the 123 bullets.

They still list XBR 8208 for the 123 and you wouldn't catch me dead using it on those bullets. On the Grendel foroum 8208 was found on 120 and heavier bullets in the grender that the window of not enough and too much was very very small and many shooters experienced blown pirimers and sheared bolts.

I find it odd that Hogdgon would stop listing a very popular powder with the grendel,. I am curious , did they pull data from a bunch of other calibers too??

I don’t see it in 2022,2021, 2017, or 2012 Hodgdon manuals, but it is in Hornady’s…not sure if that helps.

I read on 6.5 grendel forum that they removed it when the ELD came out. CFE223 and 123 amax in the 6.5 grendes are tack drivers for me. I was putting 5 shot groups in a dime size pattern @200 yds. Luckily I still have 1000 amax :) but find it hard to believe that the eld would be that much different.

Are you guys loading this for an AR platform?

I can’t find a good group with the 123 SST’s. Tried several charges and lengths of both the CFE223 and 748 powders.

I've never really had much success with sst, AMAX in the grendel I've had good success with CFE. My Creedmoore doesn't like SST but loves ELD.

I load for AR and bolt, can send some suggestions if you’d like. BLC-2 and 4198 are sleepers in the Grendel.
