I'm rebarreling a rifle and I want to get the whole gun and Talley lt. weights Ceracoated to match the scope. Does anyone have a guess which black Cerakote would match a Burris matte black scope. My local guy said there are a couple that are close. Just wondering if anyone has done it and your thoughts on color. Thanks

Here is some fuel for the nightmares of your anal-ness.....

fde chassis, polished stainless metal, target grey rings on a black scope, dull black rubber grips, shinier black plastic mag and gray sling

or....... green plywood, camo sling, target grey metal, fde scope with *gasp* black caps....

and to finish the dream.....

camo stock, DLC action, carbon barrel, same fde scope with the *gasp* black caps and 'not quite matching' matte black rings. And the ghastly colored mag comes nowhere near matching the *double gasp* scope.........grin

I have to coat the gun anyways, might as well match the scope. Blued action, s.s. barrel and kind of gloss blue Talley mounts . Easiest way to do it.

I went E Series blackout I believe. Id have to confirm for sure it was blackout, but I know it was E Series cerekote. My gun was black action and stainless barrel. 20250727_172340.jpg

$8 worth of Krylon would fix all your problems. Just tape the scope lenses and bore first.

Several years ago I had an older action blueprinted/rebarreled and cerakoted and forgot to ship the floorplate to the gunsmith. I decided to just spray paint it. It looks great but the only spray paint I could find was about 4 shades lighter than the barreled action. Looks weird, shoots fine.
