I would like to find cheap monthly cost game cameras that use cell service and are wireless. I cannot use wifi and need to have cameras hundreds of yards apart. I want to get 3 cameras. I am hoping to spend $300-$400 initial cost plus a low monthly fee - $25 or less. I actually want to use them as security cameras - just to occasionally take a live look at a property I own. I have never used the new cellular cameras but they seem like they would work. Ideas?

Spypoint has cell cameras in that range and has up to 100 photos a month for free. You won't be able to get a true "live look" as they are motion activated, but Spypoint has an option to send a photo at its "daily sync time" so you can pick one time per day for it to take/send a non-motion activated photo if you want it to.

I'm assuming you already checked for cell service at the spots you're thinking to place them?

They’re practically giving away cel cams now. I think maybe because some states are starting to outlaw them or restrict their use. Lots of them are under $100

Black Gate monthly plans are very reasonable and they allow you to use the data in aggregate across all cameras. So you can buy a plan for one camera that has a lot of data and then the minimum plan for all your other cameras. If a camera on the “low data” plan has a squirrel camp out in front of it that camera will still send pictures as long as the overall data hasn’t been used. Their customer service has been top notch. I had trouble trying to update one camera with a Mac (my fault trying to get use to Mac OS) and an American walked me through it on the phone without a huge wait time. I don’t think you can trigger a photo remotely, but I think you can tell it to send a photo as a set time like @hikenhunt said you can with Spypoint.

I also have a buddy uses Reolink security cameras as "game cameras." He will check duck holes and his dove field remotely You can pan the camera up/down/left/right. I don't know how much the data cost, but it is pretty cool and probably more inline with what you are looking for.

Take a look at Wise EYE, i have 15 ridgetec, 10 Tacticam lastest and greatest pro model. The first Ridgetecs were fantastic cameras for me some are still running everyday even after bears etc. There latest cameras just don't get the reception the first ones did and I'm not happy with them. So i bought Tacticams charged everything good got solar chargers and extender antennas etc. 8 out of the 10 at least took a picture for a few days then they just quit, have went and rechared batteries, spent hours talking to them on the phone updates and only like 3 are sending pictures now. The dual antenna units seem to me just do a much better job and the video is awesome especially for security purposes!

Gardepro X66 is a recently popular camera that is damn awesome from what ive seen so far. Only 120.00 for pack of two with free shipping. First cam is 15.00 for Unlimited photo/video/ondemandvideo and 11.00 for 2nd. Even less if you pay annually. 34MP pics 1080p video.

Sorry about the book:

We have two tactacam 3 pros and two stealth 360 degree version 2s. Have lithium batteries and solar panels for both. Figure $250-$300 to set each camera up like this.

Data plans are similar, you can do by the photo or unlimited. I think am paying $120/yr for unlimited with on-demand photos for both brands (think second camera is less). The live view is extra, videos might be extra. On-demand takes a picture "right now".

You have to use Rain-X on the lenses - both will "dew" up and be cloudy at times - my browning trail cameras do this too. We get quite a bit of dew and thankfully the Rain-X helps.

Deer will look at the 360s more than the Tactacams or Browning trail cameras at night. Possibly the IR flash and possibly cause you need to set the 360's at waist high for good photos - eye level for deer.

The Tactacam photos are more grainy and a stranger's face is not guaranteed to be clear. The night photos are the same - Tactacams aren't showing antlers very well at 50-60 feet. We have a Tactacam and a 360 set for security. The 360 photos are better and I'm sure there are some brands that are even better.

The 360 is a serious camera - I check out the entrance doors to 2 buildings and the upper, middle, and lower pastures with it every day when it sends me a daily 360 photo. It isn't perfect but would need 4 regular cameras just to do this - it is barely behind the camp bld corner if walk/drive in the driveway - once you see it, I already know you are there. Try to come around the far side of the building and It gets you there too. Very neat.

Oh - last comment. FWIW - My cameras (Browning trail cams, Stealth, Tactacam) all trigger strongly to vehicles - cars, trucks, and tractors - can't set them facing the road or would get EVERY vehicle - even significantly outside detection range.
