Found a pretty good spot that we couldn’t get a specific bull in last year that was number 1 on my list this September. During turkey season I discovered a pretty good sized cat track and then proceeded to stumble upon 3 different piles of bones under trees within a couple hundred yards of each other. This past Friday night I camped out there and was serenaded by some awful sounds of a cat that seemed like it went on for hours. The same sound over and over again. Maybe a mating sound?

The question is, will this empty some country? Obviously that answer will vary, just curious if people had noticed anything in the past.

PS willing to trade info for any Colorado cat hunters...

I doubt it will make much difference. They are pretty much everywhere all the time. I’ve seen deer and elk within 100 yds of fresh/active lion kills then got pictures of lions on trail camera a few hours later

In most areas of western Colorado, if you have walked a mile you have been seen by a mountain lion. That does not mean you will see them, or even sign, but they are there. I have seen many in my hikes and caught more than a few on trail cameras. Not sure how much it changes the behavior of deer and elk, they are pretty wary to begin with and where goes the prey, follows the predator. Something is always hunting them.
