Castle Rock/South Denver rifle range?

Any recommendations on a decent place to shoot? New to area and somewhat disappointed in Google results. Is finding a legal spot in the NF the preferred route?

While a bit of a hike, the public range in Salida. Chafee county range. Steel out to about 1k.
