For you old Rokslide guys, you remember his 186 yard shot off my tripod when he was 10. The buck where he walked up and said “where’s the meat?”
Well that was three years ago and he’s dutifully hunted each year since with no action. We’ve hunted the last three days on one of the ranches I manage, but really only saw elk.
Well today he fired his second shot at a mule deer buck ever and by golly, we just had tenderloins tonight. To boot, he got it done in last 20 minutes of season not to mention pulling off a great shot at 225 yards, again over my Tripod.
Here’s the day in pics (his friend Nathan doesn’t yet have a license so he was horn rattler and deer dragger. He actually made the trip a lot more fun for Cash and me):
If you can’t tell in the last pic, they are completely exhausted. Ate and went straight to bed.
