Carter Wise Choice Durability issues?

Yesterday at the archery range I accidentally dropped my Wise Choice from about elbow height onto dirt and the thumb trigger assembly bent. I’m wondering if anybody else has had similar issues or if maybe mine just landed on the perfect spot. I wouldn’t expect an almost $300 release to bend from being dropped on dirt.

I had a Too Simple for a long time and never had any issues but that’s just a case of one. I’m sure you will get people who have and haven’t had issues with their releases. Carter has been around a long time so the sample size is probably very large compared to other releases also.

Ive been using one for years and its hit the ground a few times even concrete and not bent.

That does not look like it hit dirt however I also dont see any marks that would show it hit a hard surface. Interesting none the less. I would imagine carter will take care of you.

I mean it was pretty packed dirt and like @TylerDurden3 said it could've hit a rock that I didn't see. I think it landed on the tip of the thumb button just right cause that's the most bent. I'm glad to hear yours has survived a couple of drops, I continued to use it for probably 40-50 more shots and it still functioned fine but I'm going to crack it open to see if anything else is damaged and to clean out whatever dirt might be in there. I am well past Carter's warranty period but I did email them asking for a replacement part. We'll see.

I've used a wise choice as my primary release for the last three years, and during that time I've dropped them a few times on ground and concrete.

They have never shown any damage other than cosmetically. So I would say that you just got very unlucky.
