Hello fellow roksliders. I am looking for someone with a stash of carboard rod tubes they are willing to sell. I need to ship some rods and they are hard to get ahold of for a decent price. I am in the Charlotte NC area if anyone has some. Thanks

Whenever I have needed a cardboard tube to ship a rod or gun barrel in, I just check in with my local tackle shops. They usually have a stash of them as they are getting rods shipped in all the time, free for the taking as they usually cut them up and put in the cardboard dumpster.

I've used the tubes before, but when I didn't have any I've also used the USPS Priority pre-cut triangle boxes that you fold together and can make them whatever length you need. They're free.

Lots of guys are using pvc now as stated above. Do a Google search and you'll find some info on it.

PVC is all I and friends use now. Postal carriers are too careless when it comes to cardboard. When I have rods shipped in from Japan I pay extra for them to use PVC.
