has anyone used carbon arrows to replace the regular stays on their pack? what advantages and disadvantages is there by doing that ?
Thanks

The big advantage is weight, and if having a totally flat frame profile works for your back shape then go for it, its a pretty cheap and easy thing to try. Not sure what frame you have but for instance having aluminum stays that will bend under excessive stress where as a carbon arrow that will snap could be seen as a disadvantage if you have a habit of throwing your pack around but that falls more into the abuse (or military use) catagory.

I have used them and really like them. I’m a flat back (no ass) profile and the flatter carbon arrow for stays shape works well for me. I’ve used 1 arrow per side and 2 arrows per side with zero difference in performance. My fireman “bigger is always better” attitude keeps me running 2 per side. Even in my smaller packs. It’s a piece of cake to swap arrow shafts in place of the regular stays. Give it a try

Kifaru used them. Not sure they still do. Much prefer aluminum. Many love to rant about weight between aluminum and carbon. However, aluminum is the only one that each person can CUSTOM BEND THEM TO FIT PERFECTLY! I will make up weight somewhere else. If it's that big of a deal

I tried a couple arrows per side on a Duplex Lite. With approx 40# pack I had significant slipping no matter how much I cranked on the waist belt. The curved carbon fiber locked in much better for me. Definitely gonna be different for every "body" Worth a try though to see if it works..Good Luck
