I have noticed that on my rifles I find I really need my scopes pushed forward. Recently on one of my guns I put an AR style cantilever mount to try and found this to be much better! I am considering switching some more to this but befor I drop a ton of money on more mounts I figured I would check on here to see if maybe I am doing something wrong. Side note for hunting rigs it really does not bother me that much, PRS setups is what I am referring to.

I was wondering is this normal or am I doing something really funny with my head when I mount a gun? On several of my rifles I have very adjustable chassis/stocks so I have the LOP adjusted for me (so its not like the LOP is really short) as well as the fitment but I just find I struggle with scope eye boxes. When I first mount the gun naturally I am always to close and need to slide my head back. Like I said I don’t know if I have some weird giraffe neck thing going on or am I just really dumb and don’t know how to setup a scope?

For reference on how I usually mount my scopes if I push them all the way forward (with the real-estate available on the rings and base) I usually get the end of the scope about even or maybe a hair past the backstrap of the grip which from what I can see is pretty standard.

Here are some pictures of one of my typical rifles and then in the background I have the rifle that I put a cantilever mount on just to try. Notice the LOP is the same (and its not stupid short I have lots of spacers in) and the vertical grips are in the same spot but the one with the mount that has the aggressive cat forwards is way easier for me to use.
