I wanted to bring this thread back up after my trip to the range yesterday.

I shot a 1.7" 3-shot group at 300 yards after not touching my rifle for about a month. 42.5 grains of IMR 4166 gives me almost 2900 fps with Barnes 139 grain LRX's in Lapua brass with CCI 200's.

I have a 6x38 Weaver Classic scope on that rifle. Less than 0.6 MOA has become routine with this load and I've not had any variance with temps from 100 degrees down to 43 degrees (what it was yesterday morning).

This 4166 seems to be a very good performer and very stable and consistent. I'll be sticking with it even when Varget becomes more readily available. As far as I'm concerned, it's a replacement for Varget, as advertised.
