I have been trying to pick a broad-head for my elk trip coming up. I have been shooting slick trick Mag 100gr, Marnus stinger 100gr.,Ramcat 100gr. Out of these the Magnus and the Ramcat fly the best out my setup. I have shot deer and hogs with all three with good results, but never shot an elk. Do you think one would out perform on an elk and be better then the others in open windy conditions?

I am shooting a 70# Elite Energy with a 450gr FmJ shaft.

Any recommendation and advice will be appreciated.

Shoot the fixed blade broadhead that you shoot best. It doesn't really matter which one. A good shot will make an effective kill. A bad shot, regardless of broadhead brand, will not.

I've had good results on elk with the Magnus 4 blades. Taken 4 bulls with them. I prefer a lower blade angle head like the Magnus and steel force for large animals like elk. Accuracy is king though.

I wish more people would grasp this concept.

The 125 gr Magnus Buzzcuts fly good for me. And as mentioned above, put the arrow where it's supposed to go and the elk will die.

Pretty solid advice.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will go with the Magnus 100gr four blade. They shoot great and have always performed well on deer for me.
