Can't speak to it however the VX3HD is going to keep 6 oz off your rig when comparing 4.5-14x VX3HD and 3-15x LHT respectively. I go for lighter weight with my hunting however weight may not be a consideration for you.

I just purchased a VX3HD in 3.5-10x, have a buddy who has one and it's better glass than my VX-2. Fwiw, VX-2 has taken a dozen elk and a few mule deer. Even when seriously stretching legal shooting light, no issues.

You could purchase the Leupold, see how you like it comparing the glass. If it doesn't stack up to what you want or are used to, then return. JAT.

Look forward to hearing what you do and any report you can make back to the forum.

IMO the glass on the Razor LHT is better than the Leupold VX3HD line. To get comparable glass you would be looking more at the VX5HD line

I would also agree with this as well. I have a bunch of Leupolds and also a 3-15 LHT. I really like that LHT and it is quickly becoming my favorite scope.

I recently acquired a Vortex LHT 4.5-22x50, not mounted yet but looking through it the glass is good, I doubt you would be disappointed with an LHT.

If you’re looking at LHT budget it would be much more fair comparing it to a Vx5hd

I have several LHTs and a VX6HD. The glass on the VX6 edges it out in my eyes but I have had several people like the LHT better. I was just curious on the VX3 glass > Sounds like its another LHT in my future. I aint mad about it.

The VX5HD was a tad clearer and brighter when I compared that and the LHT side by side. It was in a store so no natural lighting at all. That being said I have the LHT and don’t regret it. Didn’t look at the VX3.

The LHT and the VX-3HD aren’t even in the same tier of scopes, IMO. The LHT is better in every single measurable criteria.

Like others have said, the LHT and VX5HD are an apples to apples comparison. I have both. The glass in the VX5HD is better. Turrets are a wash, but you can lock the LHT turret at something other than your Zero. I prefer the reticle in the LHT. Both if mine had illuminated reticles, LHT comes standard, have to get the firedot with Leupy. They both weigh about the same - so that is a wash.

One of my buddies has a kimber he put a VX3HD on and just told me he is upgrading to a VX5HD. I’ll tag him and see if he’ll comment. He might be able to shed some light on why. @Libtard McSocalist

Only complaint I have about my LHT is the power adjustment is tight as hell and doesn’t seem to be loosing up with time and use either. I am not a fan of huge levers either so I guess I’ll deal with it.

Better late that never. I had a vx3hd 4.5-14x40 on my Kimber mountain ascent. Nice glass. In low light conditions I prefer to have the fire dot. So I am pulling the vx3hd and selling it to fund another vx5. As far as the LHT I think the optics are better on the vx5. For long range the reticle on the LHT is probably a little better but the fire dot on a vx5 is better for more of the 0-400 yard hunting that I will be doing with my Kimber. That’s why my choice is where it is. If you’re wanting to get a 4.5-14x40 vx3 hd duplex I will be selling one with a set of Leupold prw rings whenever I have some time and a buyer lined up.
