Huge ordeal getting another matt from Big Agnes- now, question is, can I trust it on a backcountry hunt or just go with my rock solid Exped?

I bought a Qcore UL mat before last season about this time and it failed right out of the box. Due to issues with my dad, his passing away, and my elk hunt, I sent the matt back to BA at the end of Sept/ early Oct. They yanked me around for months, finally sent me a matt in May of this year. No credit off my purchase, nuthin. Man i feel like a schmuck not hammering the online retailer for a refund but they kept telling me it would be here...it will be here and then stall -obviously it went on for sometime- part of it they said was production problems- great!?

Since i posted the whole ordeal on another site a few guys have contacted me with stories of these matts failing in the backcountry, in all fairness, some could be punctures though they say no....but what say you? I could sell this new one as it has never been used and still has the tags on it...or chance it?

I used a big Agnes air mattress on a fire roll for 2 weeks straight. Wasnt ever in super rough country or even thorny country and it wouldnt hold air thru the night after the first week. It was sandy areas with small scrubbery in the area. Fyi

No issues w/ mine 2yrs now. I use a tyvek ground sheet & bivy bag under mine though.
But if it did leak a little, I'd just paint some Aqua-Seal on the problem area and get back to hunting.

They're useless and fail 100% of the time. I'll do you a favor and buy it off you for $50 just so I can throw it in the trash. :)

Yeah, just trying to get a better feel for the failure rate on these...too high for my taste...make me a reasonable offer and its yours. i can email you pics with tags on it- never used, its the brand new replacement.

I have about 40 nights on mine. It seems to get soft a little so I always give it a few puffs. So far so good.

I bet I could sleep fine on a foam pad tho.
