Can I add a stud to the power ring on the SWFA 3x9??

Still didn’t see if anyone tried a screw yet. I bought the monstrum cheap one and it’s someone functional, just don’t like the idea of cranking it tight enough to make it hold and those sticky pads are janky. Going to try some screws or maybe that zip tie or ranger band idea.

I couldn’t find one at the hardware store that would work. Ended up w Monstrums and added a layer of duct tape underneath.

OP, I know this is an old thread, but in case anyone is wondering. I spoke with SWFA on the phone and they said absolutely do not mess with the screw. It is some type of calibration screw that is set at the factory.

As for the throw lever, I tried the 42mm monstrum and although it seemed snug, it kept working itself loose with use. I put a ranger band underneath the monstrum and tightened it down. It is very snug now and is not working itself loose. I can’t say yet about long term, if it will tear the rubber band or if the screw is strong enough over time. It’s on there really tight.
Do you know off the top of your head what size ranger bands you used?

Average Joe Tip. With the band under the throw lever, I did have to pinch down on the collar of the throw lever with pliers to bring the screw inserts close enough to get the screw to engage. Thought that might be worth mentioning.

If anyone has the time, I would appreciate a picture or two of the ranger band and the zip tie method.

Honkin’ big zip tie. The size is perfect. Probably needs pliers to get it really snug. FYI, for the guy up there worried to tighten down one of the throw levers, in order to get it tight enough the zip tie has to be just as tight, if not tighter. If I like this one, I’ll replace it with a black zip tie, I think I can afford that! 🤣

I have certainly done this too many times to count. Works pretty well too.

How the heck did you get yours tight enough!? I got it as tight as possible, tried everything I could to get one more little "click" out of the zip tie, it wont go any tighter. Still slips around the ring.

By the way, no response at all from MKM. Anyone want the throw lever? Yours if you pay shipping!

I use zip ties. I cut strips of electrical tape in half to make them narrow and put two or three wraps on under the zip tie to give it something to bite into. Doesn’t slip when I do it that way.

I’ll give it shot.

With my teeth.

(Wish I was kidding, but that’s God’s honest truth!)
Mine is snug enough to spin the ring, but I can still move it with difficulty. I think with a pair of needle nose pliers or a wrap or electrical tape under, I’d be able to tighten that last click, or increase the diameter an rch.
