I know some people use crocs for their camp shoes. Anything else lightweight anyone's using? I've never been a big croc fan. I saw some shoes at REI tonight that look alright. Cushe. 50 bucks however. Anyone have experience with them? How about a cheap option? Say under 15/20 bucks.

I've been using flip flops but was thinking it would be nice to have something I could wear socks with for warmth.

If you check Joe's New Balance Outlet, they will occasionally have one of the minimus shoes on sale for $20-30, these things weigh almost nothing.

i know you said you werent a croc fan but wall mart has their own brand of crocs. they look about the same as the real deal but they do not have that strap thing attached. i believe they sell for bout 11 bucks. that price might get you thinking.

That would be a really nice price. Its more with crocs that I feel I'm paying for something that should be less than $15. I know with a lot of things you pay for the name but it seems you especially do with crocs.

I'll definitely look into the pategonia shoes as well. Those look pretty sweet.

I too dislike Crocs. I don't care for how they look and I never wear them out anywhere. However, they are hands down, my favorite camp shoe. What I like about them is that they are comfortable and enhance the drying process of my merino blend socks.

From advice I got here on Rokslide last year, I got the Nothinz. Like Crocs but even lighter. I ran those things everywhere over the last year. A sturdy sharp stick will go in deep though, so watch out.

They aren't the best bargain, but apparently I have given up on gear bargains anyway.

I like them as camp shoes, and they work well for stream crossings too. The only problem I have with them is my wife uses them for chores or running to the store once in a while, and then I can't find them.

A few years back, Patagonia offered to refund the tag fees to any non-hunter who drew a bison tag. Don't quote me on that part. I'm almost positive it was a bison hunt though. I do remember the controversy though that stemmed from Patagonias stance on hunting.

I know, way off topic. Crocs are my go to camp shoe. Love those things!

Man this's is all top familiar! I even bought camo crocks as a deterrent, nope......she still uses them and I can never find them! Love the crocs for a camp shoe, the strap also will keep them on your feet for stream crossings

I'd rather pay $25 for those than $35-40 for Crocs. I did see they have some on closeout for under $10, but they're only in puple, pink, and flower print...and that wouldn't help with your wife stealing your shoes.

I did grab a pair of the Kmart ones and wore them around my house a little. For just flat ground around camp I think they would work alright. Someone might be able to do a DIY strap on the back of them to make them more usable. As is, if you had to drop down to a creek or something for water you would have issues with them slipping off. I think something else would work better but thanks for the heads up on the Kmart stuff.

I picked up a pair of New Balance 810v2 for an awesome price on amazon ($20) and figured they would work for camp shoes as they are pretty light.

Picked these up a month ago for camp and stalking on game if time permits a shoe change.

Then my wife, last week, picks me up a pair of Cushe Canvas Street Slippers to wear around the house and when we go camping with the RV. They are super comfy and only wiegh 4.4 oz each less than 9 oz for the pair. Sole is thick so wouldn't want to stalk and animal with them but for a camp shoe check them out.

I bought some of the Cushe's a couple weeks ago. I've tried quite a few different shoes in camp, but have yet to find the answer. Maybe these will do it...
