I'm looking for a new Camera for backpack hunting. I had a Panasonic DMC-ZS30, like the camera a lot ,but I recently broke it and am now in the market for a new one. Any suggestions, input, experiences would be greatly appreciated!

What size of camera are you wanting?? I'm a huge Canon fan and recently purchased a "bridge" camera----sized between a compact and a digital----and I couldn't be happier. Amazing camera but it's larger than a compact. SX50HD. I don't think you could go wrong with any of their point and shoots.

I definitely don't want too big(dslr). But something in the small- mid size range. I'll check that cannon out

Yep, just picked up a this camera myself. Not real large but not small either. However, it takes really nice pics and the video quality is really good as well. Here is a pic of some muleys at about 40-50 yards.

Checkout the Olympus TG-3, I have the TG-2 and really like it. Luke and Stid sold me on it with their amazing pictures and the thing is just plain tough.

Darn, I'd probably rather something a bit smaller then . If I don't have my camera readily accessible, I seem to never take any pics

If you do a few searches. The sony rx100 is pretty favorable for a packing camera. The cost is a bit high. But a great all around camera. I lost my first one. Had to buy a second. Still worth it!

I have been looking real hard at the rx100 as well. The olympus t2 or t3 doesnt shoot raw otherwise it would be more tempting for me. I wantvthe performance of the nex series, the canons mentioned above or the aw1 series but if it doesnt fit in my belt pouch I just wont stop and pull of my pack. Ive missed many photos because if this. Some people will stop snd take the time necessary to get lots of good pics. I realize im not one of them so a point n shoot is what fits me.
