Don’t know much about him, but sounds like the stylish thing to do, hate on any hunter in the media that makes a few bucks by being marketable and having a positive attitude, being energetic and pursuing a living doing the thing he loves.

Its like a bunch of damn snowflakes invaded the hunting scene……

On a serious note, which camo makes your butt look skinny for the crawling shots? Last year my butt looked as wide as an ax handle is long, so need some asssssistance on my pattern choice

Someone on here implied his hunts weren’t actually fair chase or public land, they didn’t specify what. I was disappointed when I heard that and hope it wasn’t true. I don’t really get all the haters and too cool crowds.
I watched a video where he said he hadn’t had to eat a tag in his last 10 elk hunts (something close to that it’s been awhile since I saw it)
That is impressive
I don't think he hunts any high fence or anything non fair chase but he does hunt some private. He's been open about it, some influencer's are not and that's where I might draw the line. Basically he spent many years hunting public like most everyone else and as he worked hard and earned more money he was able to start hunting some private. I'm not a big follower nor up on what all of his private hunts may be but he has regularly hunted elk on one or maybe both of the AZ Apache reservations. Hell people on Rokslide hunt the res so do we not like them because they worked hard and can afford that? I'd love to hunt the res for elk but it's not likely happening and I don't care if someone can. Do we hate on people that hunt Mexico for Coues and Mule deer? All those hunts down there are private ranches. Mexico sheep? Nah! More power to them!

As someone who lives within a hour and a half of him I very highly respect the success he finds on elk and deer in Oregon. Also very respectful of his training routine and his running ability. Love his books, and he seems like a pretty cool guy from what I’ve seen.

Every time I start to get sick of him I remember that he's a bowhunter from Oregon who still holds down a 9-5 job with the local water utility, and he's earned everything he's gotten. Good for him.
I also like the fact he's very loyal to his sponsors. While 99% of their gear is garbage, the dude is still rocking Under Armour and is their longest tenured athlete, and rarely do you see him change something up.

But to be clear, some of his hunts are certainly still public, but others nowadays are very high dollar private hunts paid for by his sponsors. No chance in hell I'd refuse them either.

I make decals and had fan boys coming to me for “I eat elk” and such decals like he has so I looked him up. Apparently he started by killing big bulls in the eagle caps in Oregon. It’s wilderness, I’ve killed a bull there. Any way he started filming hunts there and then they changed some rule where you can’t film hunts in wilderness so now he hunts private. So that’s why he hunts private.

Not really any controversy surrounding him. Seems to have stayed fairly true to his roots. Not what i'd consider a sell-out. Highly motivated individual who portrays our sport in a good light. Although not my favorite, he's good in my book.

My problem with him is that he doesn’t seem to do anything in actual support of hunting. There’s a potential ballot initiative in Oregon that would completely ban hunting, fishing and trapping. I may be wrong, but it doesn’t seem like he has mentioned it in any way. At least not on his Instagram where he has over a million followers. Being from Oregon and with his influence, I feel he should be pretty vocal about it. But nope. Just posts about how he works out and shoots his bow.

Not much to figure out…on the outside, just another industry shill.

Probably a good dude, and athletically gifted…but nothing overly special in my opinion.
I wouldn't call him gifted athletically.
His athletic ability isn't a genetic freak. His work ethic and mental fortitude is freakish. He is in a very minute percentage of the population in mental fortitude.

More power to him.

He has worked two plus jobs for almost his whole life. That's not a shrill

I have no issues with him. Regular dude 9-5 job hard to complain about that. Insane workout ethic which is admirable. Personally, I like the fact that he's not political. Makes him more relatable IMO and I thinks it's a smart move.

Getting political is a slippery slope and gets complicated real quick. You support a group or measure, then someone digs up 7-10 years ago they made a racist comment or supported PETA in some fashion, and now you're racist or anti-hunter because of this affiliation.

If I were in his position, clean slate, I would keep it that way.
