Mititoyo makes good stuff, use with confidence.

And if youre into self torment, get a veneer caliper and learn how to use it. A little bit of a learning curve but once you do, its fairly intuitive and always 100% accurate. Its really the better way for a caliper to be made. Also no worry of anyone ever stealing it!

I have one thats about 4 feet long. I like teaching people how to use them. When we hire a new engineer its one of the first things I do. Great indicator of what kind of brain they have sloshing around in their heads.
