Anybody see the bear denning under the house in California? Reports say game and fish couldn’t get it out. Do game and fish carry any bullets in their guns? The thing is a frequent flyer problem it’s got a yellow ear tag.

I live a few hours from there and have family in that town. I follow a wildlife photographer who sets trail cams all over the national forest behind where that was and is regularly getting xl size bears similar to that one. Pretty crazy that you have LA and big bears right up against each other like that.

Some years ago I was camping in the High Sierras in Mono County. We were in a NF campground. During the middle of the day a big boar bear came into camp and started tearing up camps and looking for something to eat. It had 2 ear tags and the Ranger shot and killed it. He said it was a 3 time loser and policy was to eliminate it as it was not afraid of humans. He also said it had been removed from another area on the Fresno side twice and had returned to this area each time.
Some of the tree huggers were incensed that he shot it, He told them, better dead than in the tent with them that night!!

i believe a non profit from Tahoe got it out by shooting it with paintballs - now it may be living under a house the next street over.

there is quit a population of bears in that area however they are challenging to hunt - most of them live in the foothills close to town and houses or popular hiking trails. The guys i know who are successful at hunting them run lots a trail cameras to locate and pattern bears then will usually hunt from a tree stand or some sort of ground blind - usually made with natural materials
