Hello everyone.. I’m thinking about switching gears this year and going for elk instead of deer. I’ve been thinking about the Cache Crawfords East of Woodruff and Randolph? I’m not asking for spots, just whether or not you’ve seen any elk in there? Especially on the eastern side. Any info will be absolutely appreciated!!

Lots of private, right? And I think I heard they're mostly on private or higher in elevation during that hunt. I've seen people say it can be sone, but it's tough.

I have a map that shows a lot of BLM on the eastern side of the range. I think I’ll take a gamble, but the permit and spend a lot of time camping/scouting this summer. I figured there are other general any bull units, but worst case scenario, I eat tag soup..

AHhh I had the LE unit Cache/meadowville in my head. I've actually never heard anything about the elk hunting in the unit you're talking about. The parts I've seen up there are incredibly pretty. I bet that would be a fun hunt. Good luck!

To be completely honest, I have a lot of experience on the Cache/Meadowville unit! It is an amazing unit! I’ve personally taken a number of elk and deer off of that unit! The downside to the reason it’s a relatively easy draw, is because of all the private property! There is a chunk of public, but have never personally been over there. Dm me for some more info if you’re still interested.

I may do that! I have actually thought about applying to that unit for archery since the odds are so good compared to other LE units and I like that area of Utah.
