wondering if anybody has replaced their fiberglass poles with aluminum to shed the weight? we are looking to take my 6 person on a Caribou hunt and at 33 lbs. it is the first place we are looking to shed some weight.

I don’t think Cabela’s has sold an aluminum pole option for many years?

I was looking to do the same but can't find the aluminum option.they used to sell them for another $50 I believe

i found a place where you can have them made but it's not cost effective to do so. about 29 per pole. x 7 poles.

I have had a Guide model tent for about 15 years or so, found it in the bargain cave. I have the aluminum poles . I ordered a replacement one once , but not sure if you can still get them since BP ruined Cabelas. They are lighter and stronger than the fiberglass ones.

I got a set for a tent off Ebay. They sell aluminum poles, I just used my calipers for the correct size. I think I had to cut one to length
