Thinking about grabbing one of these for an upcoming AK moose hunt. Should I go with the 148L or the 195L? Without seeing them the volumes don't really tell me if they're big enough or too big. Any experience?

I have both. I guess it depends on what you are planning in carrying. That being said, the bags have straps that you can cinch down to keep the bag tighter to your gear., essentially taking up the slack space. When in doubt, I usually go bigger. I've been very happy with mine!

I have the biggest one they make as well. you just roll down the top and tighten straps and itll pack smaller if you don't fill it. I'd go big.

I've had good luck w/ Grundéns 105 Liter Shackelton Duffel Bag (Amazon $120), and also Sitka has a nice version but more pricey. The Gundens at 105 L is about the right size for me as if I pack it, its about all airline will let me fly without paying overweight fees. Also, its a good size for the air taxi, bigger makes packing it in harder. The Grundens has a nice strap system for wrenching it closed when over stuffed and it stays shut. We bought two, and same ones have done 4 AK moose hunts.
