I should note that the way I asked the warden about this was specifically with myself in mind, he initially mentioned it being an issue that guys were party hunting carrying bear tags and they were citing them and I asked him to specify how they could prove the other hunters were in fact targeting deer. I asked him this because this is a situation I could see myself in, I am out with a bear tag while a friend is out with a deer tag, and the response I got confirmed that I would probably get cited without any reasonable proof that I was targeting deer, which is what bothered me.
I've never watched wild justice or had a particularly bad experience with a warden, though what a lot of you are echoing above about them does not surprise me. I can understand them being frustrated that they don't catch the majority of poachers and that leads to them doing things like this but I feel that is completely unjustified.
