CA sheep hunt

Well my buddy drew the San Gorgonio Sheep hunt here in CA. Hate to ask this but has anyone ever set foot in this country. I'm not asking for your secret sheep holes, just general info. Looking for help with trailheads, realistic expectations, and unique caraticeristics for that area. Like is water real scarce, what feed they target, ect.

There is a member here who drew it last year and another who has helped on the hunt last year and the year before. Hopefully they will chime in. I will give it a few days, if they don't post anything, I will call them and see if they are willing to help out.

Thank ya. I'm excited that he drew it, wish I would have, but hell I'm going on a sheep hunt. Life can't get much better.

Did you pull your NV deer tag again. I ran into the packer you guys used, well I pretty sure he was the guy, when we were hiking out. Nice guy, he actually gave us a lift out. Tried to buy him dinner, but the only restaurant near his places was closed, and he said he hated to go into town.

I go look at them every winter.....just a short drive from my house.....as are the Orocopia's.

Congrats to your buddy... he's got my tag. 45 minutes from my house... Bow or rifle? DIY or guided? I have a couple buddys who have shot rams there with their bow... one is 1/4" short of the P&Y world record. I wouldn't mind helping on the hunt if he doesn't mind someone tagging along... Ed F

I didn't draw any tags in any state, but have a great hunt planned and hopefully kill multiple animals.

I know the deer in the Ruby's are sleeping better lol...

Shhhhhhh. There are no deer left in the Rubies. They all got lost leaving the winter range. Or it was the 60 people I say last year in our area. Worst part was when we got into our spot an were spotting deer, here comes a packer and drops 3 LARGE guys right where the deer were. Needles to say that spot was a bust.

He is archery only, and we are going DIY. I'm on shift right now and will send ya a PM when I get a chance.

To add insult to injury, he just drew a MT moose tag. Yup, that's a Mounatin Goat tag in MT five years ago, CA sheep tag and MT Moose tag this year. His luck really sucks.
