Went up for some hog hunting this week. The ranch that belongs to the club I belong to closes hog hunting on the first of March. Most of these hogs have gone nocturnal do to all of the hunting pressure. So I decided to do the Big Ridge Walk. With a name like this you can imagine what it's like. So I walk the ridge line all the way out looking into different draws and drainages and found no hogs, but I was able to get some practice in by dry firing on some does at 750 yards. Of course they all dropped in ther tracks. Well I at least tell my self that. So I start walking back and find a lone boar feeding on a ridge 510 yards below me. I'm glade he was on the south east side aste was no wind, but 7-10 with gusts to 15 on the north side. I dialed up 7.0 MOA and held .25 for drift and took a high shoulder shot. Hog was dead before he hit the ground. Best part was I was able to quarter him and walk straight down a ridge to the truck.

I'll try to post some pictures when I get home.

Congratulations on the boar and the shot ! That's getting close to the best eating size anyway so nothing disappointing in not being too big.
