Need landowner/outfitter tags (can’t wait to accumulate points-ain’t getting any younger).

As a former resident of California, I don't necessarily agree with the statement of "hunt bucks up to 220"+"... 220 bucks are rare everywhere, especially California. I've spent a lot of time in some of the best deer units in the state and never saw a buck like that. A more realistic option I think would be to contact SC2 outfitters. They're a great outfit based out of Redding, and they do offer guided mule deer hunts in Northern California. Another option is to contact the CDFW and ask them what landowners/outfitters are allocated PLM tags and see if they have a contact list and go from there. Best of luck in your searches.

220 California bucks are indeed rare, but they're out there every year and they're killed in December on auction tags in areas bordering YNP.

I live in CA and you can get a lot of tags with no points. Grab a tag and and get hunting. One of the few western states you can shoot 2 bucks a year in.

How much are you wanting to spend? What size deer are you looking for?

After living and hunting deer in California for quite a few years, it would be on the bottom of my list if I was looking for an out of state guided mule deer hunt. For the money, there are a lot better options for a quality mule deer hunt in other western states, for both numbers and quality bucks.

These are my 3 best CA bucks, and you probably couldn't have paid me enough to take you to them lol. I don't think I'd pay more than $10k for a legit premium late season tag here. Trophy potential is definitely there in some parts, but it can be a crap shoot.

if you haven’t killed one yet, and want to hunt Cali, I’d look at a combo guided blacktail and pig hunt on the costal foothills.
Colorado would be a great option for a guided mule deer hunt. You can kill a great buck on a 0 pt unit, especially on private with a guide. Also most guides have access to landowner tags which helps a lot with units that take a handful of points.
