So California has closed their State Park Campgrounds. They gave law abiding tax paying camper/customers 24 hours to vacate. Then the Governor of CA announced that the State is buying 1,300 trailers for 50 Million dollars to provide temporary housing to the homeless. It is unclear where they plan to park the 1,300 trailers.

Edited to remove speculation.

Congratulations CA! Your Governor just turned your State Parks into a trailer park for people who are shooting up and shitting on the street right now. I'll bet they take great care of the Fema trailers and your beautiful State Parks.

Is it April 1st yet? That cant be true! Wow.

They are blowing another 50M on hotel rooms for the homeless. Maybe they should have done something about the homeless before a national health crisis? Hey wait, where is the 100M going to come from? Would have been cheaper to put them on a cruise ship....

It's a problem they have to figure out how to deal with. Many homeless really have issues. It probably doesn't help that CA decided to become a sanctuary that draws the homeless in.

It's very unfortunate, but CA has to do something.... especially with the Covid-19 stuff.

Must be some pretty sweet trailers at a $38,461 average

It's expensive making sure trailers that couldn't possibly have any cancer causing materials. #prop65

Imagine how long it'll take to clean up the shit and needles from the places you want your kids to play. Unreal. We are living out the plot to Idiocracy.

Note to self: don’t buy used camper from California later this year.

I visited CA last year. Awesome trip, but San Francisco was a disappointment with all the litter and homelessness (underwear and all kinds of stuff on the side of the interstate). It's pretty bad. Things really might go to crap in the homeless areas when the virus shows up. They do need to do something.

I think we should have some empathy for the homeless. Most have mental issues that really prevent them from coping with reality like we do.

Campgrounds in state parks are closed, but state parks are not closed. So not only is the OP speculating about where the homeless will be housed, it appears he couldn't even understand the articles on the topic.

Why in these trying times are people so quick to undermine their own reputations by posting inflammatory BS on the internet?

Most of that mental illness comes from really bad decisions.

No, not really. Think of how different each one of us is just visually. All the thousands of little differences. Then think of how the brain is put together.... certainly there are just as many differences in the way the brain works between people.

We tend to analyze things thinking that everyone one else's brain works just the way ours does. It's not true. And to be honest, it's a really low percentage of people who have those issues, but they do.

Hell, I don't understand how my wife thinks sometimes and I know her better than anyone else.

how many years’ experience do you have working with homeless people?

I don't, but I have read a bit of it since we've had an uptick in it in South Louisiana for the last several years. I know many have drug problems, but I do think that is often self medication for other issues they have problems dealing with.

What about you? Do you work with the homeless much?

I'd imagine these trailers would not be parked at state parks. It wouldn't make any sense putting a bunch of people who trash everything in a place like that. Yes I understand that not all homeless people are the devil, but putting them in our parks would be a disaster that our beloved granola munchkins would not want to see.
Plenty of vacant lots to put them in, if they lock us all down. But with governor Gruesome running the show who knows......
