Looks like Bzone has been reclassified. Looking like this will mean less hunters out there chasing bucks in the wilderness. Almost time to start getting out there.

Hoping someone with some knowledge can chime in on the specifics because the regs are garbage for trying to understand the specifics of getting a tag or two. It appears as though if you draw a premium tag (X zone) then you cannot get a B tag as well? You cannot get a B tag as a second tag until after August 2nd (if any are remaining)?

I don't believe they lowered the total tags for the unit, so it will be the same number of hunters.

Where are you seeing this in the regs? I could not find it. Did they just re-classify it to a premium tag like they did a few years (2013-2015 ish I think) when it sold out one year? They later reverted it back to OTC.

If that is the case yes it would restrict anyone who receives a Xzone or D 3-5 tag or other premium tags from buying it as 2nd deer tag but the last few years we have had leftovers after draw results I believe.

I guess that was not very specific on my part, I’m very sorry boys. In my haste I just figured the word was out. My buddy said that he went in to get his B tags and the hunt is reclassified to a restricted hunt so he could only list it as a choice on his first application and was not allowed to get a second b tag.

Said he asked his fish and wildlife friend about when he could get the second tag and there was no answer.

The regs say that if an unrestricted tag sells out before August 1st, then the following year it becomes restricted. B zone always sells out, but it doesn't always happen before that August 1st deadline, so most years it remains unrestricted.

Now this year its restricted, so that means that everyone who normally just buys two B zone tags OTC has to wait until after August 1st in order to buy that second tag. It's highly likely that it won't sell out before August 1st this year since the majority of people who buy B zone tags are now limited to just one tag.

I don't think I've ever seen B zone tags sell out before the August 1st deadline more than one year in a row. This means that next year it's likely to go back to being an unrestricted tag.

Like Yoteassasin said the tag quota/allocation hasn't changed.

This is how I read it as well.

Wish I knew you before I listened to me buddy and opened my mouth! Haha. My bad fellas.
