I've got the Element Jacket and like it, but I would have enjoyed some extra insulation and warmth on my last trip. Has anyone tried the Summit Jacket? I like that it compresses so small, that was one thing that annoyed me about the element jacket.

I saw it come across Camofire. Interested to hear what people have to say once they get some time in it. I cannot seem to find any good specs on it though like materials (other than the mention of Primaloft) or the weight.

The element is not made as an isulating layer for sure. I wanted to pull the trigger on a summit jacket but just didn't have the funds to blow. I thought this jacket was 700 fill waterproof down?

The Summit still seems like it would have some insulation though right? At least more than the element jacket does. The element doesn't really serve a purpose for me anymore since I have the torrent jacket which is a great lightweight jacket, and it stuffs down really small.

The Element jacket is geared more towards early season hunting and does a good job bliocking wind. When hunting when it's cold, the Summit would be a better choice since it uses Primaloft One insulation. These 2 jackets are water resistant not waterproof so keep that in mind.

For cooler weather you might consider the C4E Elevation jacket, it has Canadian Goose 700 fill water repellant down so it's suppose to repel water and keep the down dry. I would assume it is very lightweight since it uses down but I could not find a weight on it

Yeah i'd love to hear your thoughts on it. The Elevation Jacket seems great too but the price tag makes the Summit more appealing.

I ordered the Summit tonight and have the Spindrift which I like. Can let you know when it arrives. I will use it in November with my son for his late youth elk hnt. Buuuuurrr will be cold!
