Hello, I have been set on getting a new pair of the zeiss conquest HD binos. But started to look for used Swarovski just to see. I found a couple deals where I can get the 10x42 slc for about $900. I don't know all the different generation types but pretty sure both are pre wb / neu models. I still need to ask for the serial number off of them to check. Is the Swarovski glass that great to where even the older glass is better than the midgrade HD glass? Thanks for any info

I had a pair of SLC NEU, found them for $900, have seen them for that since. I can't compare to the Zeiss Conquest HD, but you can find those in demo for a little less. I thought the Meopta Meostar HD were an improvement, they are similar in weight to the older SLC, which was the negative for me, but optically very good. Rokslide has a very good review comparing these two. Cabelas had a great sell on them, not sure if it's still on.

I called on the swarovskis I found and one was a 2001 pair that had been sent in and the lenses upgraded. The other pair is a 2005 set. Need to sell my longbow before I can buy anything though 😀 So much stuff so little money!
