Buy or Build- Sheep Edition

This is very similar to my sheep rifle. Ti action, 20” barrel, echelon stock but in 6SST. Love that thing! I have the little NF 2.5-10 and it’s been bombproof.

Ya, when people pick it up, they're like wtf. The echelon stock is really sweet. Not just because it's about the lightest stock out there, but it also gets the ergos correct.

I'm running the S&B 3-12x42. Really like that scope.

Looking through the used rifles today at Scheels there was a Kimber 84 in 308 that weighs something very close to 5.5 lbs, and every part of the rifle made me smile. The little trimmed down action with a Winchester safety, nice machining, simple stock, thin barrel and overall classic lines. If you ever get a chance to handle an ultra light rifle it’s an eye opener. A very nicely done rifle. Anyone have one of these and how do they shoot?IMG_0805.jpeg

For both my son's I rebarreled Kimber hunters with Lilja and turned them into 6 CM, nice little rifles.
I've also turned a couple hunters into custom jobs for myself with no complaints.

Truly did not know there were any more than a few factory 6 CM offerings. Off to see how Springfield Waypoints are these days...
I have a newish one in 300 PRC that is an incredible shooter with factory ELD-M's. It might just be the most accurate factory rifle that I own - off hand I think so but I would need to review some targets to verify that statement as I have a factory 5.56 rifle that shoots well above its price point. A couple of years back I used a 6.5 Creed version for a portion of a LR class and was impressed enough by it that I snagged one in long action as soon as I found one for a decent price.
My only complaint is that p!ss poor balance with a CF barrel, much less with a can on it. Very front heavy which is fine for LR positional shooting but about takes it out of the realm of being a useful rifle offhand if the need ever comes up. At this point in life and tinnitus I won't shoot a centerfire rifle without a can on it.
If I ever run across one in 6 Creed or better yet 25 Creed I'd have to sell an existing gun or two out of the safe to buy it, but I would do so. I like them that much which is saying something as I am moving swiftly towards custom-only rifles these days.
