Unfortunately both trauma surgeons and both neuro surgeons I saw were extremely worried about the 25-30% canal closure.I had a burst fracture of L4 when I was 21. Rods and screws in L3 bridging to L5 to take pressure off the fracture. They went in six months later and removed the hardware. But, I was 21, it was the year 2000 and I'm certain that there's probably a host of different treatment protocols available now vs then. I worked in med device, specifically spine, for 15 years so I got a different look at the spine business. Fusion would always be my last option. If it were me I would just make sure I know of every other option I have and really trust my doc. Good luck in your (or others) recovery.
Ouch!Car accident
Lady pulled in front of me. I would have killed her had I hit her so I swerved. Hit a curb and went airborne.
