Does anyone know the material for the Burris Xtreme rings? I am unable to locate the material on their site or any other. Are they 6061 or 7075 aluminum?

Budget build for the nephew and I’ve moved him off Monstrum or Rugers supplied base and now we are discussing rings. I prefer Warne or NF but have used the Burris with decent results. Lately I’ve been playing scope roulette and find the 7075 more durable than 6061.

The aluminum is not specified, and thus probably not 7000 series. I have had very good luck with the xtr signatures, they do not shift with 36" drops, and the steel clamps are not going to crack.

ah, no we are not. i was talking about xtr signatures, didn't realize they had a cheaper pic ring. if you really want to save $, the swfa pic rings seem to work.

They switched manufacturers to china and are now junk. I broke 3 sets in a row last year installing.

Hello,

The XTR rings and AR mounts are made from 7075-T6 aluminum.

Then this may be an issue................. Looks like the nephews budget just turned into a few more hours of hauling brush to afford the Warne's
