Looking for some information on the new Burris Eliminator 6. Not finding much honest reviews out there.

I got to shoot a buddy’s a couple months ago and Burris knocked it out of the park with this one! Finally got it so it doesn’t look like a 2nd dick growing out of your head. I’ve got several of the old ones on my coyotes guns and they functioned well but glass was lacking and eye appeal sucked. lol. The 6 looks good a real scope and worked great. Played with out 1270 yards and it worked great all the way out never missed a lick. He had it set up and it worked great. Only got to shoot about 15 rounds thru it but what I saw I really liked.

Any update?

I shot one recently. It's a cool idea, but felt like a gimmick to me.

I also felt like the glass quality was pretty bad. Admittedly, I didn't play with it very much.

Basically, you put the reticle on the target and push a button to range it. An illuminated dot appears in the reticle as your holdover.

There's a digital level in the top of the reticle and a number adjacent is supposed to be your wind hold.

I suppose that all works fine, assuming your atmospheric inputs are correct and you only shoot whatever ammo it's calibrated to.

It's been a few weeks and I immediately didn't care for it, so excuse any inaccuracies in these statements.

I would much rather have a reliable scope that I adjust based on my velocity, projectile, and altitude that day.

It seemed to me like a more complicated sig bdx. I also think the bdx system is stupid and the easy button mentality of it all leads to people believing themselves to be overly competent.

My personal opinion is that Burris would do well to build a scope that is simple and reliable, rather than putting their emphasis on the whole digital/Bluetooth on-board data model.

There's too many variables that become difficult to adjust for.

For example, I also shot one of their other digital range scopes. Maybe it was a veracity? It had some system of the digital range being shown in the sight picture. Target at 550 and I ended up "dialing" down to something like 500 to hit the target.

If you have a traditional scope, you just dial down the correction. It seems much simpler to me.

I have the Veracity and if it’s 50 yards off, that’s very poor data uploaded to scope.

I have chrono and distance verified DOPE that when uploaded, is on the money unless there is a hurting or helping wind.

I have no idea what was uploaded.

For me, the idea of "uploading data to the scope" is not something I'm interested in.

It was just an opportunity to shoot a new gun and scope. I did like that one more than the eliminator, fwiw.

Understood

I like the Veracity because it eliminates the need to reference a DOPE chart or phone app in the heat of the moment. I range and then go right to the scope and dial.

Also, I hunt in box blinds and I have to get a light to read the turret in low light. More than once I had to use the light of my phone to dial. The HUD in the Veracity solves that issue.

It’s tech that might not interest everyone.
