What is three likely hood of elk heading back and being in the area of the Arapaho fire by the time the season rolls around?

real good / right after the yellowstone fires we hunted the area and shot two big 6 in the burn area

If there is re-growth they will be in there. If it is still crispy black,, probably not.

Better than you would think.

You would be surprised how much area inside the fire line gets missed by the flames.

A couple rainstorms before frost has green stuff popping almost immediately..

I was in the area on Monday the 20th ... saw a calf on burned ground ... heard of a herd of 40-50 the day before from a local. I think you'll be fine -- or better than fine. It could be the new growth is an attractant.
