If you can live with a small trailer a Casita is the way to go. Well made and hold their value.

I wasn't a big fan of the toy haulers so I got me a 20' bumper pull so i can haul an ATV around in the bed still. Works great for me - it's small enough to get into most places and is quick to set up/tear down and serves as a storage for a lot of my gear so its just hook up and go and very little packing. I heat it with a MR. Heater buddy. Having a shower is a game changer on a long hunt.

Have you looked at Off Grid Trailers?

I have enjoyed mine do far, versatile with a queen mattress inside, a rooftop tent with a queen. Awning for shade and cover as well as can add walls to it to block wind or other weather. We have slept in the trailer at 0 degree and below temps.

Nice. What have you found out on pricing?
Seems like msrp mostly. Maybe a bit off for a 2022 right now. But, in general, from my somewhat limited looking, seems like the RV pricing is starting to come down slightly. The nearest dealer is an hour away, so might try to go check them out in person next month or so.

A few things to know. Horrible QC is the industry standard. Doubly so in 2020 and 2021. Water intrusion kills more RVs than anything else. Factories do a bad job of sealing against water intrusion. Good marine grade sealant used liberally is your friend. Slides introduce 3 points of failure. Water intrusion, mechanical and generally bad floor support. If you might use it on poor roads, torsion axles will make a difference. Fresh water can go fast. A large freshwater holding tank may be important to you.

A few brands/models that have better reviews than most. Flagstaff E-pro and Rockwood Geo-pro (same) and Winnebago micro mini.

Your gas mileage is going to suck. Seems most folks get from 8-12.

I decided to get a trailer for hunting after debating the wall tent/camper/trailer thing for a couple years. Decided on the trailer and, for me, it's worked great. Easy and quick for one person to set up/take down. So far it's been bear proof which is a concern where I hunt. Wife and I have started using it a lot for trips and really prefer it over motel/restaurants. Towing anything sucks but with a good weight distributing/sway control hitch it's not bad. Mileage will be 50% of normal. Haven't had any trouble with our slide, yet, and really like the extra space, keep it lubed and clean and they are pretty reliable. Solar and large tanks are worth the extra expense. I've had ours all over MT, on some terrible roads (tape any doors (fridge), drawers, etc that tend to open). We have an ORV 21 and tow with a F150 5.0L. It's a heavy, tall trailer and lots of tongue weight so we are at the max for a half ton. Don't know where you will be storing it but if you have to rent a space it can be expensive. It's all a toss up and comes down to a lot of personal preferences, but hard to beat having heat, inside cooking and some comfort when you are beat up. If buying used have it checked out at a reputable RV repair place if you aren't familiar with the common problems.
